Is he worth it

Ive been seeing a guy for 20 months when i found he had been txting other women, he says its nothing only friendship. But he was very secretive and i ended the relationship. I have been try ing to get him to agree to us seeing each other again which he did last night taking it slowly for a while but i dont know if i am what he really wants. We go back over 30 years and he was my first love, we also had a brief affair 17 years ago. We are now both single and i do love him but feel very insecure. I know he still txts this other women whos younger than his eldest daughter and she lives quite away from him but i dont like it and he knows i dont, but insists she is only a friend.
