Money for our children

My husband and I don't agree on how to spend money. So we divided the bills and pay for our own cars etc. That's fine with me. He sees his money as an expression of his I dependence and if it means that much to him fine. He's very responsible and always pays his bills. I have no interest in controlling him so I let him be. As part of this arrangement I buy the groceries etc. But it seems to have fallen to me to pay for everything our child needs. Drs, meds, clothes, school, birthdays, Christmas, vacation, even trips to the movies. OK, but why? We are parents together. Is it unreasonable to expect some financial backup?

Why don't you both create an account for your kid and contribute an equal amount in it regularly? This can be used for such expenses. Speak to him.
