He sends me mixed signals

I had a crush on this boy since the day I met him. I never told anyone because I didn't believe I had any chance with him and also I had the idea that he was gay. One day a friend of his -also my friend- came and told me that he really likes me and the way I dress and so on and I told her that I liked him too -by accident- and she told him. since then, he started talking to me on facebook and talking to me whenever he saw me in school and we also went together for iceskating -not alone, with friends- -and it was soooooo great- but lately he completely ignores me and i have noticed that he goes offline when i am online. he is all in or all out and i have no idea what to do. should i ignore him or should i talk to him? i don't wanna give him the idea that i don't care but i also do not wanna be annoying. what should i do?

You mentioned that he seems to be ignoring you and goes offline whenever you are signed on. I wasn't clear if this started happening after the friend told him you liked him. Maybe you could speak to him in person because it's easier to get a vibe for how things are going when you can hear the tone of their voice, see their expression, body language, etc. Ask him if anything is bothering him and tell him that lately you feel like he's been avoiding you. If the conversation hasn't turned sour, let him know how you feel. A real friend won't stop talking to you just because you shared your feelings. In order to make sure you don't freak him out, just choose your words wisely. For example, don't say "Why are you avoiding me?" Maybe try "Are you upset with me? I feel like you might be avoiding me." Hope that helps a bit.
