He said he is selfish

So, me and my bf have been dating for 6 months already. I have met his friends and he have met mine during the course of our relationship. We both posted pictures of each other through social media. He got invited to his friend's wedding next month. I asked him if he wanted me be his date. He said he wants to go alone because he is selfish and just wants to spend some time with his friend at their wedding. Should I overreact to this or just take it as him bonding with his friend, since they rarely see each other nowadays due to their crazy schedules?

Something is definitely wrong or going on here, if he doesn't want you at the wedding. You should have a look and see, is it him being selfish (I find that really strange tbh, that he would say that) is it his friend? are you being clingy? .. I have no idea about any of these things for a fact as I don't know you or him, and I don't want to start making you paranoid, but something is definitely not right, especially only 6 months in, I could see the point if you were together years and one of you couldn;t be bothered going, but 6 months is new, it should be showing off as a couple time.
