Nervous about my first school dance (sixth grade)

I need help. This will seem incredibly stupid and self absorbent compared to every other person, but it's been eating at me all year and I think I'll feel better if I get some tips/advice. See, my first school dance is coming up in JUNE, which is a while away but still. Everyone has already caught the dance fever, since it is our first dance. I'm in sixth grade, and it's for elementary school graduation. (I live in Canada, so there is no middle school.) I'm crazy nervous. I don't want any advice saying to be myself and it'll be fine, since I know that much. I want to know this. How do I dance? What do I do if things get wierd? How do I act? What do I wear?

ONE, No, it's not stupid, it's very common; TWO, a problem could be said to be as serious as it feels to the host; and, THREE, no offense (and, not that it'll stop me from advising you), but... why aren't you asking your mum and/or other close relatives or best female friend?
