Guy friend....?

I'm a senior in H.S. and I've become really good friends with a guy in my class this year. He's been talking to me a lot more recently, and we have started to hang out outside of school more often. The other day, he came up to me and was looking at me and asked me if I have lost weight (which I have), and then he kind of just took my hand and we held hands for about 30 seconds or so and then he gave me a really nice hug.... It just seemed really out of the blue. I'm not going to lie, I liked it and thought it was very sweet of him! I have never been in a relationship before, so I don't know a thing about love or stuff like that, lol! What is going on with him? Does he like me? (I should also add that he is dating someone, though)

I don't know what the hug was all about, as in, trying to say, because you've not described how the conversation went after asking you about your weight loss, nor how the conversation PRIOR to this one went. Or were you stood all that time in total silence?

(WEST, if you're going to comment can you please at least concentrate when you read the OP? It seems pretty obvious from how HIPPIELUV structured it that he began hanging and talking with her PRIOR to her weight-loss having become noticeable (which was only just the other day).)

My guess as an old man, he does like you and using a very thoughtful maybe planned way of getting your attention. Maybe he has another date but don't others in HS. I think you are in USA. Tell us what you think about him, is he to your taste first of all? You say you have no experience of relationships, love comes along way later usually, well this is one of the times you have to dip your foot in the water. Also West bear in mind, added to what Soulmate is saying, you are speaking to a mass of different ages and nationalities in here, so text language is not easy to read as to your generation.
