Concert Crisis

Hi everyone! I have a problem involving my friends right now. While this isn't a very serious topic, I would still love to have your advice! I'm a 17 year old guy. Anyway, my friends/girlfriend and I do not share the same interest in music. The type of bands i listen to are fare different from that of my little friend group. Any effort to talk to them about some of my interests as far as music go are usually ended with me feeling dumb. So now for the immediate issue... There's a concert coming up this summer that im dying to go to. One of my favorite bands is coming to town. Previously in my life, if there was a concert I wanted to see, I would just ask my Dad to take me. But I know he is losing interest in this activity - especially as my music taste changed lol. I'm not sure I would want to take him to this concert anyway. But now I have an issue... Who can I go with? I knew my friends will probably say no if I ask them, but some may say yes... However I don't want to be thinking about whether or not they're enjoying themselves the whole time/ or have to babysit them. What should I do? Should I ask them knowing they will probably not enjoy it... Which may alienate me even further from them musically. Should I go alone? I've never done this before and the are surrounding the venue is a little sketchy to say the least. I need some advice. Thanks!

Nothing will lose if you'll ask them and if they wont go then you should go alone. Try to meet new people at the concert Im sure you'll get along with them because it's the same music you like. You never know how much it will be fun.
