Boyfriend isn't trying as much as he used to?

My boyfriend of 9 months used to try very hard in our relationship- he used to text me as often as he could (whenever his phone wasn't taken away by his overprotective mom), he would compliment me a lot, and show me through his actions that he loved me. Now, he doesn't talk to me outside of school, almost never compliments me, and rarely tells me that he loves me first, nor does he show me through his actions. He pays more attention to his phone than he does to me, and even admitted to me that he is sometimes happier around other people. He hates PDA, and considers a hug too much PDA, to the point of which he will push me away to avoid it. To put it simply, I feel like he's stopped trying. I've talked to him about this, and while he understands the issue, he was quick to change the subject and brush things off. I'm not sure if he understands how hurtful this change in behavior is for me. Does anyone have any opinions, advice, or insights on my situation? Thank you for reading!

You deserve someone better. Some people fall out of love, maybe you aren't meant to be.
