Unknown direction

My girlfriend is going away for college. I can't go with her since I wasn't accepted there but I want to keep our relationship going. I can visit her since it's only an hour and a half drive but she wants to end it. I told her it does have to end like this and that if she does go I'll wait for her but she doesn't want me to change my plans for her. Yet I still tell her I don't want it to end and at the moment she's confused on what to do. I told her that she can go but not to end our relationship. We were friends for 5 years and started our relationship back in December. I don't want it to end and I've told her how it an still work but she is still not sure. Please help, I want to keep this relationship going.
