A traumatic act

I Haven't slept for two nights since i've witnessed the most traumatic event in my life also at my older brother's and other students at our school. It was just this friday when my brother and I went to out university, at 8:12am specifically when we arrived. All the students and professors are on the field, chaotic. As i'm in shocked when i looked at the roof of one of our building and saw a man walked and sat at the middle of the building's roof. Rescuers came and try to pursuade students not to mind the man as the man may continue his attempt of suicide if he saw many people at the ground. So we followed the rescuers advice and went to our classes. Others continued theirs. Then we were relieved to know that they've convinced the man to step down and the counselors did their job, the man's parents came and they went home. Actually i am really relieved to know it and tried to understand the man on his attempt. I've heard that the man is already on his 20's and he's not our universities' student or even alumni. But it didn't end there. It was almost 11:24am when i went out to meet my brother at the 4th floor coz i need to give him his lunch as we saw a guy running towards our place and our guards is also running after him. It's the same man who tried to jump off the roof earlier. He's already approaching us almost a room before he reach our place when he stopped and without a second thought, he jumped off the building and the next thing we knew is that we heard a bang and the man is already lying on the ground. Our jaws literally dropped and couldn't move at our place. Woooo. I don't know what to say. Heol. I just can't sleep. Everytime i tried, that scene just came to flash. Luckily that man didn't died. Life is short but others even make it shorter. Can someone help me to forget this accident? Heol...

Talk about a giant reality slap! Why are you even EXPECTING to be capable of sleeping? Isn't your school offering trauma counselling to students and particularly you two because of this? What about your parents, aren't they even considering getting you and your brother to a counsellor or at least taking you to your GP to be referred or at least to prescribe you and your bro a short course of sleeping pills? What did your parents say when you came home and told them? Did they at all discuss it with the pair of you?

Of course oir family did talk about it. but we didn't intend to tell the school that we actually saw it. Coz we knew they have many students to cater to who also saw the incident. Our parents are already contacting a psychologist.. i hope it can be a big help tho...

Well, that's good to know, and yes, of course it'll help. But are your parents aware you can't sleep? Are they letting you and your brother talk it more out of your system with them whilst awaiting an appointment? If not, what in the meantime did you want to get off your chest or ask here about what you witnessed?

very traumatic. wow. I dont know what i wouldve done! have you tried talking it out to someone? really talk. about every feeling arising. that is a hard thing to wrap your mind around. it is a human life that was thrown to almost death. Death alone, is scary. pray about it. talk to someone. write in a journal. Maybe not just one thing will help. try them all. take some medicine to help you sleep. Go to the doctor and get something. You need your rest. without sleep your mind will continue to drowned in that one thought. take a long good bath. relax. fall asleep to a good movie. a funny one. Hope everything gets better for you and all parties involved. try talking to someone else who witnessed this.. maybe go visit the man that did this. He obviously needs someone.
