Relationship with friends

I have made good friends in the past year. They have been around and very helpful and included me in their circle. When it came to gifting at my wedding or on my birthday, they did not care what I like or what I have been planning to get, rather they gave me something that had been sitting in their closet or a gift who was given to them by someone else. I felt really hurt because I have made efforts in getting something they wanted and would really like it. I try hard not to judge and put it aside but time and again this keeps happening. I don't know if I should maintain really good friendship with them since I have been the one who has been giving a lot.
