A dilemma with a friend

Default profile image
I am a college student and have a pretty good group of friends. We are all pretty close and have similar class schedules which causes us to spend quite a bit of time with each other. One friend in the group, we'll call him "X", has been getting on the nerves of everyone in the group. X is disrespectful to others, is not accepting of others beliefs, and is inappropriate at times; his values differ from the rest of the group. X's behavior causes stress to the rest of the group which as college students, we already have plenty of. We would like to separate ourselves from him, but none of us are sure about the best way to go through with it. He has spoken of his rough home life and has even mentioned suicide before, but based on past behaviors, it is hard to tell if he is serious. If he is, I would not want to say anything to him that could upset him enough to go through with something like that. How should we go about telling him we would like to end the friendship without hurting him to much or causing him to make a rash decision?

Talk to X apart from the group. Ask him what is going on with him - he may just need someone to talk to.

I think he is just taking out the frustrations on u guys. You should talk to him and explain him about the problems your group is facing because of him
