Not sure if it is ok to send him a message

The guy i was seeing we broke up a few weeks ago. A few nights ago. he asked if i would like to hang out again soon. said he still cares. Told me we would hang out tonight, or the next, but now he has not said anything else about it. and i don't know if it would be right to ask if he still did, all i know. is i really love this man with my whole heart. and i don't want to live with any more regrets.

you could go out with him... but first it's important to understand why you broke up. was he abusive? uncaring? thoughtless? people may change... i said may... not completely, they just can understand their mistakes.

I see no problem with taking initiative and trying to get answers. Were you two very serious? Involved for very long? It could be that he is confused and isn't sure what is best for him right now. I'm in a situation like that with someone, sort of. But seriously, if you want to figure out what's up, then ask him.
