Online dating is weird under the best of circumstances, especially if you've never met the person before. For many of us, it feels not real. (And you *don't* have to deal with a lot of the problems in a RL relationship, like them smelling weird or not doing the dishes.) IT's hard, but I'd suggest breaking it off. It wouldn't surprise me if, to some extent, what he fell in love with was less you, but more the fantasy of you. (Which may explain why he justified having a real life girlfriend.)

" like them smelling weird or not doing the dishes." :-D ********** RedGirl, Married or taken men, aka cheating basst'ds, are rife on dating sites and the like. It's one of the downsides of the ether. So, despite his soft-soaping protests to the contrary, you did quite early on *suspect* he was trying to make you nothing but his secret 'mistress'? Tell me, had your suspicions been proven true back then, rather than only just now - would you have told him to move on and stop wasting your time?

What made you believe that he loved you? How did you find out about his GF? Was there a picture of a girl and he tried to convince was you? Agree with SOULMATE stop wasting your time and close this door permanently. Men learn early that some woman will believe what they want to hear. He fooled you once and once is more than enough.

(...whereas *he's* a 'too tiny for the net' thing...hence keeps slipping out through the gaps.) RedGirl, if for some strange reason you fail to do the right thing by yourself and ditch him, then I suggest you at least refuse to meet him until you get concrete proof he's ended his previous relationship... lest you find yourself dealing with a 'seeing you to come' situation versus the other way around. [rotten tomatoes this way]
