Stay together or divorce

married 25 yrs with 2 grown up kids who have left home. a huge arguement last friday which started as nothing but turned into hin grabbing me by the throat and threatening to kill me which he has never done b4 and is so out of character for him. i stayed away 4 two days and now i don't know do i fix it or leave hin 4 good. how do you decide, or even start to decide im not sure i love him but then i can't imagine life without him. how to i start to even think, where do i start
