What to do with my future

I began to attend college like I was expected to. Just like all high school graduates are expected to. But I quickly learned that it was no for me. I strongly dislike college. It is not hands on and full of learning like I thought. It's just more crappy standardized tests. I don't want to delay my future anymore than I already have. Right now I have a few options. I am currently stuck where I am at otherwise I know what I would do for sure. I want to be a police diver 1) I can continue college and working part time at the security company I work for and get my criminal justice degree and the college even offers scuba classes. But this would be putting my career aside for 4 or more years. 2) I can get certified as diver at my local PADI and then attend the police academy and become a police diver and get an online degree while working my dream job. I just am stuck between these 2 options and could really use some help deciding what I should do.

Do what makes you truly happy, not because its CONVIENIENT and what the rest of the flock of the sheep are doing. Do it because you love it, rather than something you despise.

Dont be hasty...be patient and decide to do what u really like....first search more about what you want to become...speak to a few people who are actually in that field.. Know about the pros and cons of your chosen field..and then go ahead with it.. Regarding your college...initially you might hate it but if you let your mind free abd open tgen who knows you might evrn start liking it...dont just leave college just because you dont like it at least now...with a degree u can have dreams of having a secured job...but without anything...u will be at loss...All The Best..!!

Not all colleges are created equally, and not every type of school will be right for you. I felt similarly to you about the college I attended for my associate's degree and, while I stuck around out of hope that I really might learn something, I think things gradually went further downhill each semester. I would say, don't put off your career at all, if you can help it. You seem to know what you really want to do for a living, down to the specifics. Just know that, from what I've heard and seen, online courses are much tougher than classes because there is nobody there to give you a lot of one-on-one time, and assignments are more strict. It may be more difficult for you to take online courses when you have so much going on. I have a friend, a few years younger than me, but she has put like 7 or 8 years into her college education. She is very driven and puts her education above all else. So she has already been putting her own life on the back-burner for her career. Don't put your career behind even further to pursue other things that don't matter to you as much. You want to be a police driver, you have an idea of what you need to do, so I would do whatever it takes to make it happen, then. Just be aware, you will likely still have to make sacrifices and do unexpected things just to accomplish that goal, and the online courses could be rough.
