Crazy ex is out of jail in 3 weeks

Hey, I'll try to make this as short as possible. I was with a guy for around 14 months. He was abusive, mentally and physically, mainly mentally though. He was an alcoholic and a cocaine addict. He's been locked up for around 9 months, however he's out in 3 weeks and lives 10 doors away from me. I changed my mobile number as he wouldn't stop harassing me with threatening phone calls and texts, sometimes he tried to "sweet talk" me but when he never got s response he was straight back to his abuse again. I've cut off all contact on my side. However, he's still ringing my house phone and leaving nasty voicemails, contacting my family and making out like I'm the crazy one and that he doesn't understand why I'm doing this to him. He said if I ever left him he would hunt me down and kill me. I tried to get the money together to move, but I'm a single mom, working and in uni, I just can't afford the move. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared for mine and my daughters safety. It's as if in his mind we're still together, he's mentally unstable and I have no idea how to handle the situation. I'm in a new relationship, I've told him a bit about what's going on so he knows what he's getting involved in but I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to him because of this so I've thought about ending things, but he really is a great guy. I got a new voicemail just this morning and I can't cope with this anymore. I've started writing all the incidents down and saving the voicemails rather than deleting them, but it's like I'm just a sitting duck waiting for the wave to hit with nothing to stop it. Anyway, I'm just trying to see if anyone has any advice or been in similar situations?
