I am 39. I recently joined a new band. I am the oldest member. The other 2 members are 17 and 20. Neither of them own their own car(siblings) they have to share a car with parents. When I first went to play music with them, I asked them. "Why not come to my place next time to practice?" They said "We will have to see." I said "See what? Ya'll are 17 and 20, when I was your age I didn't have to see." They said, "No need to get defensive with us. We share a care with our parents. We don't have our own." I said "Why not? Ya'll moochers?" The 17 year old said "Dude, stop with the name calling." The 20 year old said, "I'm not going into details but for personal reasons, we both had to wait until a year ago to get permits, and obviously we don't have our own car just yet, but that is none of your business man, so please don't feel the need to call us names just because we aren't like you." I said "Wow, get over yourselves." And left. Why would they treat me like that? Aren't I(39) in the same age group as them? Why are they so held back compared to me?
I am only 12 minutes from them, and they've got a drum set
already so I never bring mine but still... What would you do? Why were they rude to me?
Ummm ever think about how rude you were to them? Name calling and stuff like come on if your older you should know better. You my friend were the rude one not them. And I honestly wouldn't blame them if the didn't invite you back to practice. I never got my licence till I was 22 never had the chance, you never know what circumstances they had to go through to get their license. Try not calling them names and making fun of them that is a start.
