Future or no future?

Hello, I have been with my boyfriend for going on 5 years now. between the 2 of us we have 5 kids, one we have together. I am very much in love with this man and very happy with our life together, the only problem is that, well, he is still married. everytime i bring up when he is going to file a divorce he gets on defense and never answers the question or just tells me that it doesnt matter because he doesnt want to be with her. Now they havent been together since way before me but how can i see a future between the 2 of us if he is still legally married to another woman?

Legally married but separated for more than 5 years makes the marriage a piece of paper. If this guy is looking after you and loves you unconditionally and you guys are "very happy with our life together", then why let a piece of paper get in the way. When he's ready he'll get divorced but no amount of cajoling from you will hurry the process. In the meantime, get on with your happy life together.

He's probably afraid from a legal standpoint. It may be a piece of paper but he might have a lot to lose, that's probably why he's not ready yet. Seeing that you both have a child together makes him legally responsible which makes somewhat of a sticky situation. Best to leave things as they are for now.
