I"m in a relationship with this super guy, 10yrs older than me. I have 1 son from my previous marriage, ex was also 10 years older!! My son is 4. Everything went perfect between us until one night,a friend of my bf came over - they spoke - then my bf decided that he does not want to be in relationship with me because he does not want to raise another child.....he is like the "stepfather" for his previous girlfriends daughter, they were together for 15yrs, the daughter is 19 now. She only phones him when she needs money - as well as her mom. Me on the other hand have not asked for money or nothing. Now my problem is that we still stay together - but since last week he has more and more excuses not to come home - where before he could not wait to come home : HOW DO I FIX THIS??? Somebody pls give me advice!!

Well you have to commend this guy on the fact that he actually took the role of "step father" seriously.  As any step parent will tell you this is one if not the hardest job a person will undertake in their lifetime.   Obviously your boy friend was successful in this role as the teen feels comfortable enough asking for money (which is quite normal for a teen to do).   Your son is 4.   If I do the math this is the same age that he began his step fathering role with the other child who is now 19.   Either this man has told you or you have a gut feeling that he doesn't want to play the role of step parent again.  Maybe not directly, but by his absence more and more.  I have to commend him again for knowing what he wants and learning from his past life lessons.    Sad to say parenting has not been one of my greatest life accomplishments (as many moms feel) and I completely failed at being a step parent (which rates as one of the worst things I have to account for).   Take my advice and break it off with him as it will only hurt your son in the long run.   It will be hard but I know you will do the right thing.  Best of Luck.
