Just some dating help please

So I went to the movies with a guy I use to go to school with. He was nice and talkative. Im always a shy person. So i didnt talk quite as much. We laughed. Had fun. He hugged me at the end of the night and sent me a text saying he had fun shortly after. I don't know if that means he maybe likes me or as a friend. I don't get out much. I've had issues with dating people. So I was wondering should I text him and talk to him or wait and see if he talks to me first? He's really nice and even of it didn't end up in dating he would be a great friend.

Your past issues with dating are lessons for you to learn from and the past is not for living in. Take the initiative to talk to this guy to find out more about him rather than wonder about him. You trust your gut instinct enough to know that he would be a great friend but going by your post, his actions on the night should tell you that he's a good person first and foremost and good people are generally easy to approach and talk to.
