Boyfriend’s response isn’t what I expected

I texted my bf “I love you 😘 You’re my favorite person 🥰” and his response was “ Wow nobody ever said that to me before! You're pretty fantastic yourself.” Umm 🤔 … I honestly didn’t expect this response. I would have preferred he just send me the 😘 emoji in response. His wording sucks. I was definitely put off by it. Should I just keep reading into this or let it slide?

I'd let it slide. I think you're trying to read a LOT into his message. His response seems fine to me. He think you're fantastic. Isn't that good enough?
