Did I do something wrong? Was it me? Please help!

Hi, I am driving myself mad here and need advice. After 20 years my marriage broke down and I've been on my own quiet happily for the last 9 months. I don't do dating websites or anything and although I felt it would be lovely to meet someone I wasn't going to go looking. 3 weeks ago a man messaged me, thinking I was someone else (probably clever line) anyway we got chatting and met for a hike, there was great conversation and definitely a spark. We met again for coffee and it went really well. All the time he initiated asking me for dates and it was always close to my home. He didn't want to me in the city where he has a flat. His Facebook said he was single, and although he mentioned an ex he didn't goni to much detail. He asked me out for a drink, we met in a hotel where he booked a room so he could drink and not drive and was near my home. We had an amazing time, really good laugh, flirty and there was some light touching. At the end of the night he asked if I wanted a coffee in his room. I went. He had to take a phone call, was gone for about 20 minutes, came back completely panicked and said he had to leave. He asked if we could do all this again, had a proper kiss and he fled. Within minutes I was blocked. At first I believed there was someone else and he had somehow been caught out. Now I wonder if it was just me?? It's destroying me. I really liked him and we got it brilliantly with alot in common.
