Work party slip up

During a work party while having a deep conversation me and another employee started kissing. We were both heavily intoxicated. There’s always been a little “tension” with us but never been acted on in anyway shape or form. The issue is they are a supervisor and I am a manager. They don’t directly report to me but I am still a level above. We spoke briefly the next day and it was a regret, not a regret type of deal for both of us because of the work situation. Understanding that it cannot happen again or go beyond the incident, I am struggling with making sure to not make things awkward at work. Part of me says I should reach out to have a conversation them about it but another part of me says that is selfish and would only make things more uncomfortable for them.

Duplicate message to: "BrokenAries" "abercedar" "m&ms" "Jetae" "Wealllmakemistakes" Hi and welcome! Respondents are thin on the ground at the mo. Unless you're happy to wait another day or so for myself or another regular to respond (we're all p/t voluntary), could you please follow traditional forum poster-visitor protocol and, unless you're really not up to it, have a stab at each other's threads first? That would be much appreciated - thank-you. :)

Yes but you're a manager or are you a leader? - there's a difference you know. Take control of this situation & go & speak to this supervisor as a person away from the workplace. Discuss the FACTS & the whys & the whynots. Understand that you're being selfish by allowing it to fester, for the want of a better word, instead of discussing it. Take your thoughts further to also understand that alcohol doesn't lie & that it can't be used as an excuse. There's a chance that if you let it go to the wayside, one or both of you could end up working elsewhere & don't worry about if your work colleagues know about it or what they think about it because they do know about it but it's none of their business.
