Social media dilemma

Didn't really know what to title this post My tiktok account is currently private cuz of a situation that had happened. The person is already blocked on there. It was a scammer But I do wanna go back to public but I'm afraid of them finding me again. Mostly because I noticed my posts don't get much engagement private like it did when it was public. I changed my username and everything. I know I can adjust my settings to friends only for a public account but that still won't make a difference cuz scammers can still find you in other ways  I feel like its safer to stay private but I also want posts engagement. And my current followers I don't have connections with any of them personally but I'm not saying social media is my whole life cuz its definitely not. I'm not even on it much anymore  I don't wanna start over again I wanna keep my same account  The whole point of tiktok is for engagement. The only reason why I joined was to connect with other creators like myself but unfortunately I haven't and honestly don't know any creators I already know I don't post bad videos so it makes me think why am I not getting any support from anybody not even my followers  I just feel sorry it happened to me and had to switch my whole account to private so I'm just pissed about it

I don't really know what to advise because I'm not tech-savyy like you GenZs and Millennials. What do you mean what were they after it was a scammer. Scammers are usually after money. It's a long story but I was already in contact with the scammer before this whole tiktok thing happened Yes I do wanna go back to public but I'm afraid of them finding me again. No I'm not an influencer I'm a creator Ya I changed my username but scammers can still find you in other ways like your email address which is how they found me. But I never gave them my email address they found it which I don't how when I never gave it to them My followers can definitely see my posts so i don't know why im not getting any support from anybody. But I don't have connections with any of them personally Your response didn't really help me im sorry Or maybe i shouldn't of posted this But I'll find other alternative apps

And THEN they take your money! I should have said, what were they pretending to be after, what was their luring method? "Your response didn't really help me im sorry" No..., quite probably-definitely not. But I do know it's TikTok's responsibility. Shame no-one else felt qualified to respond, either. Well - good luck. But keep an eye out/keep your alerts on in case someone with techie savvy does appear with the solution. :)
