Lost with college

I am scared of graduating, I ahve no idea what to do and am so unsure of anything
LELIAHS, I definitely understand that fear of graduating. I'm a third year right now, and I have gone through switching majors, mental health battles, and much more. That being said, I have heard numerous things from people around me that have helped me a lot. For example, my parents work with college students; particularly ones in the music industry. Many of them are your stereotypical musicians who work as a barista on the side. Despite that, there have been some people who they saw graduate with music and then do something completely different on their own after graduating. Thus, they graduated and still were finding out new things to do.
Another thing I have heard a lot, and realized a lot, is that it's okay if you don't know what you want to do even once you graduate. If you think about it, you still are really young, so you still have time to figure out what you want to do, how you can apply yourself in a way that makes you happy, and settle down. I promise you that most people around you who look like they have things planned out, still have many gaps and holes in those plans no matter how planned out they may appear.
Either way, don't be afraid to graduate without knowing everything. You don't need to know everything! Just enjoy your last year(s) of school, and something may even come up as an unexpected opportunity.
(Great reply, USF - really great! *thumbs'up*)
Leliahs,
It's true, you know:
"You don't need to know everything! Just enjoy your last year(s) of school, and something may even come up as an unexpected opportunity."
Indeed, there's an age-old saying (so I'm told haha) that goes: 'Life is what happens whilst we're busy making plans'.
Or:
“The best-laid plans of mice and men oft' go awry” is a famous line from a poem by Robert Burns—written to a mouse whose house suddenly gets plowed over by a farmer, despite the mouse's careful planning."
And today, that Mouse (if he was a good, kind mouse) is raising a glass to Fate, saying, 'And if THAT hadn't happened, then, I wouldn't be where I am today!.
Fate/Him Upstairs/whatever!....The Unseen Second or Third Hand!....Never doubt The Force, Luketta....(HHHH...hhhhhuuuuh... HHHH...hhhuuuhhh...) (but I'm definitely not yer father).
It's dabbled in my life AAAALLLL the time- all the time. Virtually non-stop, actually! I DEFINITELY wouldn't be "Here" today had I got my way and managed to follow most of my so-called plans.
That's why the other ancient (i.e. too true to go out of fashion) sayings: "Go with the flow". And "Learn to roll with the punches". And "A rolling stone gathers no moss".
It's just the fear of the Unknown. Or Failure. Or Success.
Today, however, is the very day you a couple of years back, feared. How scary IS it?
Also - "This thing we call failure is not the falling down - it's the STAYING down" - Mary Pickford, famous Author).
What are your interests - especially nigh-on obsessive - when you're on your own? That'd be a giant clue? As to what to do? And now that sounds like a poem so I'm going to have to finish it.... "And then you won't feel Blue. And can do what best do You" (- creative licence, dwahling).
Thoughts?
Well congratulations!! Graduating is a huge accomplishment! Instead of failure, some people are actually afraid of success. But first things first start social networking. Start talking to people with common goals and interests. Get some ideas, and explore the options that you will have for employment once you've received your degree. You don't have to graduate first to do this, you can start right now. The sooner you do, the clearer it will be for you to know what career path to take. Get excited about your graduation! You made it! Look at all the tough stuff that you been through. Isn't it time to get rewarded for all your hard work? You didn't mention what your major is but, whatever is, I'm sure there are so many opportunities and open doors that await you. You just need to use your creative self to build connections with others so you can get a better idea of what to do next and how to do it. So again, congratulations and be proud of your accomplishment.
