Im really worried bout a friend at wrk, known her for 10 years, shes always been a great ladie whos up for a laugh bt jus lately shes been really down n always smells of alcohol. I tryed talkin wit her but she denied it, i then saw a empty bottle of whiskey in her bag. I tryed talkin to her son jus2c if hme lifes ok- he got snappy n walked off. My boyfriend told me not to get involved but i cnt help myself, i really wanna b there for her even tho shes very distant. im not sure wot to do. Louise. x

in this situation it is not alcohol problem, something is not normal in her life and you can really help her maybe you can talk to her parents and relatives.

Hi, I would maybe just see if she would be up for a coffee or lunch. And I wouldn't force anything but just provide good company. I think people will only tell someone who they can truly trust. People hurt other people when their egos are hurt. So her reasoning for keeping it to herself may be because of trust issues. Also maybe there is something else that can be set up does work offer assistance for councelling? if so you can always say its non of my business but you are worried and you know that yada councelling is available and its anonymous if it is etc.
