Irreconcilable differences?

Default profile image
I decided to get a place of my own six months ago as a result of the deterioration of my relationship with my husband of 24 years. He has been withdrawn and verbally hostile for a long time and stopped making love to me almost five years ago. I have felt lonely and starved of affection for many years yet always loved him and couldn't leave before. I still love him and wanted us to 'start courting' again in a way. I thought the separation would improve communications but it has had the opposite effect yet I told him it was to help us to expand our lives and give us quality time together. Is it beyond repair now?

Hello Have you ever asked your husband why he started becoming withdrawn and verbally hostile? Have you also looked at how you were behaving in the relationship, believe me sometimes we have to look at ourselves on how our partners are behaving. Does he want your relationship to continue and if so then you both need to sit down in a loving space and not from a fearful place (anger and blame) and ask each other what it is you want from your relationship. Have you ever asked yourself what you must have and must not have in a relationship. Have you ever thought he maybe seeing someone else and if so have you asked him or shared your feelings with him? After 25 years in with my husband he confessed to me that he had been unfaithful during all our time together including one night stands, sleeping with a prositute and having an affair with my best friend for 18 months and we are now in the best relationship ever after alot of communicating and getting help from coaches. We are both coaches ourself and alot of our friends said it was easy for me as I was a coach but when it is happening to you it is not the same. Believe me honey when your partner starts behaving differently then something has to be going on with the relationship and it does not have to be him having an affair but at some level you are not meeting his needs as a man (this does not have to be just sexually) We have a free mini report which will have some useful information for you. http://askdougandchris.com
