I love him and I know he loves me...

I was with my ex boyfriend for four months and the day before school started he messaged me on facebook saying that our relationship wasnt working and that we needed a break. I secretly felt the same way the whole relationship but I thought we could make it work. Knowing he felt the same way made me angry and I said some things I did not mean. He said some mean things back and we stopped talking. I told myself I was going to forget about him and never speak to him again but days went by and I missed him. Two weeks later I broke the no contact rule by saying hi to him on facebook. He responded and we spoke casually but ended up losing contact again. I told him happy birthday through a facebook message and he thanked me. My friend had told me that he was asking her how I was. I decided to ask him about it and he denied it. He then told me that he had heard that I missed his sex and I told him that I did.I asked him if he had missed mine and he said it was "good". He asked me if I wanted some more. I asked him if he just wanted to have sex with me now and he asked me what was wrong with that. I told him that I didnt want a sex buddy and that I wanted to be in a relationship and he said that he didnt and asked me if he was supposed to care. I asked him why he had asked me then and he has not responded. I dont think that he will respond but if he does I am not going to respond(for now). I'm hoping that right now he is just mad and hiding his true feelings and I'm hoping if I ignore him now one day he will come to his senses. If he asked for us to get back together some day I would do it because I love him. Any advice?
