14 yr old family trouble

Hey, I just want some advice. My mum and my dad were fighting and my dad then decided to fight with me, so I retaliated and got in his face, he then pushed me so I pushed back, then he hit me and my arrm was swollen and bruised for a week or two, he is now trying to buy my love back with gifts, I don't want to talk to him but my mother wants me to. I'm not sure what to do about him any more I truly hate him.
