Relationship / disloyalty

Ok so I told my boyfriend I'd help him buy a car (we would go half on it) he picked out a cheap car and the day we were supposed to buy it I backed out bc I wasn't financially stable enough to help him out now he thinks I'm disloyal and won't answers calls or texts...will he ever get over this? Should I leave him alone? I tried apologizing he didn't wanna hear it tho
