Single forever?

Split 12 years ago and not lived with a man since,he cheated often then ran off with one. Children left now and I would love to settle down with someone. I get asked out but seem to find an excuse to finish it before it gets heavy. Wondered if I was scared in case they let me down, I know its not because I want to be single, I don't. Or is it cos I am waiting for that WOW factor and don't give them a chance? Really dont wanna end up at 80 alone with 6 cats!

Hi LillyMe, In my humble opinion, i think you may be subconciously frightened of being hurt again & as a defensive mechanism your reaching a point where your feelings are out of your hands and therefor left vunerable, and end it all. as for the Wow factor, just let youself go with the flow, if it works out with a particular guy great ! but if it doesnt, treat it as part of the process of finding Mr Right.
