Guy friend issue. What to do next?

I used to be really good friends with this guy, and we used to hang out a lot. I feel we had a real connection as friends, and we lost touch over the years. We did make out a few times, and fool around but never went all the way, but it never changed how we were together, but we just kinda fell out of touch. Recently i have thought about him a lot, and i looked him up on social media but couldn’t find him anywhere, but i found his brother on fb. I sent him a message saying how i was trying to reconnect with old friends and wondered how his brother was doing, and i would love to reconnect with him again if he was interested. He said he remembered me and would let him know. I don’t really know at this point if i want to be with this guy, but i just really miss his the connection we had. I don’t know if he has a gf/is married or whatever at this point in his life. His brother never said anything about this. So my question is what now? I know some people can be flakey about getting a message to someone. He could forget to tell him or something. This was only yesterday and i haven’t yet heard back. I don’t want to seem annoying and keep asking hey did you tell him yet, so just wondering how i should play it from here?
