Should I continue to get to know this guy, or cut it off before it gets weird?

Recently, I've been talking to this guy (through email since I dont have a phone) that works at a Chinese restaurant I frequent. He's really nice and sweet, and I definitely want to get to know him better. However, he's been pretty forward and I don't know if I should be worried or not. He seemed pretty shyish and quiet when he first started working there, then he started to talk to me and my friend more asking if he could be friends with us. Now he's talking about how he wants to be friends but then hopefully a couple. Which I suppose is fine, but he keeps talking about how he always looks forward to seeing me and he always wants to talk to me. His last message was talking about how he gets nervous and his heart speeds up whenever he sees me. Like I said, I know next to nothing about this guy and I'm not really sure how to go about the situation.
