Boyfriend wants to be celibate

Default profile image
My boyfriend and I have dated for 3 years. Our sex life has always been pleasing and compatible. Lately he's been having trouble with erectile dysfunction. He wants me to get him through it, but I've tried everything and can't help him much. He won't take pills because he is worried about side effects. He won't get checked out by a doctor to rule out an infection. We don't freely discuss these topics well enough to talk about other causes. He has now decided he wants us to be celibate. I don't believe one member of a couple should make that decision for both. I have not complained, because the fuss over the dysfunction is very negative. I just don't know what to do. Being celibate really doesn't work for me. He doesn't know how to please me in other ways. And I don't want to be cold or unloving towards him.

His problem doesn't make him unique, I have experienced it and so have some friends and we are all different ages and I am now 75 and can't get an erection but our sex life is not as active as it used to be when the disfunction was occuring and my wife helped. He must seek his dcotors advice, they are well used to it and completely private of course. Good luck

He might just be scared. I really would suggest getting him to see a doctor. Afterword's, he might be happy it happened.
