Feeling i am at the crossroads

Feels like I have been trying to change, and I stumble back to bad habits!! on the plus side, I am down 12 pounds since I started working out more and eating better. been split up with the bf for a few months now!we still chat on facebook and have seen each other for lunch a few times. I really miss him, but we had our problems, fighting and jealousy and cheating (both sides, but when I did he left me) we had gotten into a fight and he apparently told everyone he was single, so I took off and acted like I was single to hurt him back. anyway, lately, I have really been trying to stop drinking, and everytime I vow not too, something comes up and my friends want me to go celebrate some sort of event. I really want to not drink anymore, costing me too much money and costing me quality time with my family!! I work usually 7 days a week, and some of the reason I had gained weight was due to surgery and drinking and being lazy with the ex, instead of working out, we would just watch movies and usually drink on the weekends, which is when I saw him, because he lived out of town. I guess I am looking for any kind of advice, on help to quit drinking, and being ok on my own, because only then will I ever be ready for start dating, I am not into casual dating or hooking up, I want someone I can share my life with, when the time is right.

I won't lie being ok on your own can be really hard, it's normally easier and less scary to stay in a toxic relationship, Finding something to take up your free time helps. But don't worry too much its natural to feel sad and lonely during this time it's like grieving but you will get stronger and it will become easier Drinking is alright you don't really have to quit just learn to enjoy it in moderation. You can go out and have fun with friends just slow it down and maybe mix with some non alcoholic cocktails. Take care and look after yourself.
