Separation anxiety

Default profile image
Whenever I'm in a relationship that I truly care about and never want to loose I start to feel depressed when I'm not around that person. It becomes an issue when I feel them slipping away, possibly because I could be smothering them, and when that happens I get suicidal thoughts because I feel like they don't care anymore... What I need help with is how can I get rid of this anxiety, and start keeping my relationships.

The first relationship you need is with yourself. If you can't relate well with yourself, maybe others can't either. I know what that's about also. Have you had abuse in your life, which could explain "separation anxiety." You might start off by not worrying about what others are doing for you, but what you are doing for others. Such as, volunteering to help people, such as students who need tutoring, so people in a hospital who need someone to talk to. Volunteer Services at hospitals, school systems, etc., might can help. By getting into other people's problems and helping others, you might tend to lose the worry about yourself. And by having problems, you can perhaps better relate to others who are having problems, by being able to say, "Yeah, I've had some problems like that, also." I also ran across a column about the importance of being positive when trying to solve a problem, which has helped me.
