My boyfriend has commitment issues

Default profile image
My boyfriend and i have been together for 4 years. and i have come to realize that he has some serious commitment issues. I can see myself spending the rest of my life with him and he thinks the same way. But he never wants to get married or have children with me. as he puts it we can be girlfriend and boyfriend forever but nothing more. But i want to be married and have children someday. So i am sort of confused on what to do. I love my boyfriend very much, how can i make him see it my way. Or should i even try. i wouldnt make him do anything he doesnt want to do. So is my relationship worth it when we are clearly going in different directions? any advice?

Both of you guys need to be on the same page and share the same values, standards and goals to be successful at a lifelong relationship and union. It's no good you wanting children if he doesn't. You're correct, you can't change him and expect him to do things he doesn't have the need to do. To be frank, if he WAS committed to you totally, you wouldn't be here on this forum and you have basically stated that you both are clearly going in different directions. Only you can answer if your relationship is worth it because you are the one loving him and deep down you will know whether there is a future or not.
