I'm shy around a person. Help?

So there is this person who I am afraid to talk to. This person is the same gender as me, and I do not have any feelings for this person whatsoever. Every time this person gets anywhere near me I get scared to be near them, and I back off. I can't look them in the eye because every time they look at me I automatically look down. I have tried to get the nerves to go up to them but I'm very scared too. I have no idea why but I'm way to scared to talk to them, and I really need help with this. This person goes to my school. (She is also one of the most popular people in my school, but this person is nice though, not a mean type of popular.)

Do you know anyone hat knows her personally? If so you could ask them to introduce you to her or her to you. You could possibly have a close friend with you. Maybe a third party can help calm your nerves (Sorry if I wasn't much help that's just what I would do)

Avoid her thats all. Out of sight out of mind.

I can't avoid them. I see them everywhere I go!! Also I can't just get over this without talking to this person.
