What do you do when a friend screws you over

I've not been at work since November due to stress and anxiety, I'm doing a lot better but today has knocked me back massively. In the summer I let a friend of mine who was in a bad spot move into my living room to help him out. I charged him £150 a month rent to cover the bills. I kicked him out about a month ago as he was treating my home like a joke. He never cleaned, he was always drunk or high and he put paying his dealers back before paying me. Even after I kicked him out he left his stuff here, and he was supposed to collect it yesterday. He left me sat at home all day telling me he'd pick it up later everytime I asked him where he was (no apology he promised he would come this morning but didn't show and ignored my messages and calls so I messaged his mum asking her if she could grab it. He then sent me a really abusive message telling me I treated him like shit, charged him so much money to let him live in a living room, and haven't been at work because I'm too lazy to go. He knows everything that's been going on, he saw me crying for months on end, he knows how hard it has been to get myself back to this point and yet leaves me with all of his stuff to get rid of. He was supposed to be one of my best friends, I cannot describe how much I have done for him over the last few years. I don't even know what to do with myself today.

Well he is definitely not a true friend to you, he sounds more like a leech to me. You gave him a chance and tried to lend a helping hand and he did not use that time wisely or even appreciate it. I can understand you are hurting but anyone who saps so much of your emotional energy and time is not worth having in your life. If I were you I would put his stuff on the front lawn to pick up at his convenience so to speak.

Ugh, that's hard. I'm sorry. *hugs* With that said, he doesn't sound like a very good friend. It's hard to make friends when you're in a low point in life yourself, but I'd definitely recommend that you work on both trying to make new ones and improve your own life. Stick with it. You'll make it!
