Kissing my gay best friend?

I am a girl who fell in love with my best friend, and then he came out to me as gay. I've been getting over him for the past 6 months, and can finally interact with him entirely platonically now, with no feelings involved. Here's the problem- both of us are 19 and neither of us has had our first kiss yet. The other night, he was joking around that we should just kiss each other and get it over with so we have had that experience. Don't get me wrong- I really want to. There is no one I would trust more or rather have a first kiss with. But I'm scared it will bring back all the feelings I used to have for him. Thoughts?

Knowing he's gay you should maintain an entirely platonic friendship. Woman are wired by their feelings, so your feelings will be effected. Why isn't he practicing (I mean experiencing) with someone with his sexual preference? You said "I've been getting over him for the past 6 months and can FINALLY interact with him entirely platonically now with no feelings involved." Why back track. Keep it platonic protect your heart..Better to have a first kiss with someone you can call a BF.

Wouldn't advise it. Honestly, it'll probably confuse both him and you, be really awkward, and like you said, he was joking around. I think you'd probably both rather save your first kiss for people you're compatible with. Of course, this brings up in my mind the topic of how kissing is inherently related to romantic relationships, and I'm not sure it should be. I feel like emotional closeness expressed through physical closeness can be fine in platonic relationships as well as romantic, so I dunno. You could always talk to him about it directly, and ask if he was serious. I feel like problems are often solvable through discussion.
