Socially awkward prom

I don't mean to waste time on here, but I would like some advice. So... I'm really socially awkward and prom's coming up for me... There's a girl I'm really fond of now, but I figure if I tried to ask her out she'd just bitchslap me... And I don't just want prom, either. I want the whole package. I don't care how long I have to wait or how much I have to work for it, but I care about this girl and I want to date her. But... I dunno.. She probably doesn't really like me. And she has been acting weird-ish lately. One day in class... She was walking past me to go to her desk, but she stopped when she passed me and took out her phone. She then proceeded to point her phone at me. I'm not really sure what she was doing with it because I was looking away, but when I looked at her, she put her phone back and just continued walking to her seat... On Wednesday, I completely embarrassed myself in front of her and I still don't forgive myself for it. I was supposed to present, you see, but I wasn't ready because we started working on it the day before. It didn't help, of course, that I was the first person he called on. I just had to improvise it and it didn't work out. She presented the day after and I think I saw her looking at me (in general, she looks at me a fair bit.. I've also seen her looking in the mirror a fair bit...) but after she finished she picked up her bag and moved further away from me. After that class, I was talking to some other friend of mine from the class and I was walking behind her. I mentioned her last name and she turned her head and I just said that her brother's in my Spanish class. She said cool but suddenly started walking off, I think. That was on Thursday. On Friday, we played a game in acting class. One person was chosen to be the killer and somebody else had to leave the room while the killer was being chosen. After the killer was chosen, that person was called back in and had to guess who the killer was. The killer would wink at people to kill them and they'd be dying dramatic deaths. She was the first chosen killer and I was her first (and only... she was figured out immediately after I fell to the ground) victim. Then, later in class, she asked if anybody had a phone charger and I mentioned that I might have one but the teacher also had one so she just used his. But the entire time, she was just sitting in the back with her phone near the monologues which we were supposed to be working on. It would have been the perfect opportunity to talk to her and I completely wasted it. She also mentioned that one book had some really nice guy monologues and the teacher mentioned that I should check it out, but then she sounded disgusted when she handed it to me. Why? And.. Holy crap.. It's This is Our Youth. Looking at it now, it looks really... interesting. It's about guys and girls. You get the drift. Also, I was walking behind her after Spanish (which I have with her brother, by the way) and I heard her friend say her name. She just looked behind her and didn't do much. I saw a different friend of mine next to her and I ran up to talk to him, but he soon had to split off and go someplace else so I just walked to my next class and that was all I had seen her for the week. I'm both excited and nervous for Monday, cuz.. She's.. Interesting. But I like her.

Thanks for posting your challenge. Just tell you you would like to ask her out, you can call it a date, or a walk, or a movie, or whatever. That you just find her interesting, and would like to get to know her. If she says NO, just move on. But you need to ask. Girls like that. Think of her as the first of many people you want to get to know (aka date), over the next "10" years, as you try to find a long term partner. There might be a 100 such people. Maybe 10, maybe 1000, but let's say 100. You'll get a lot of NO's. Don't take it personally. There will be some YES's, and some will become good friends. But you have to ask, before you get a yes or no.
