Miss my best friend

I'm currently considering trying to get back in touch with my ex best friend. We were friends from kindergarten all the way up til our sophomore/junior year. I relationship declined almost immediately going into high school. I made a new friend and she wasn't happy about it and started spending alot more time with a mutual friend of ours and even begin to consider her the best friend. I kind of just let that pass she was still my BFF and I didn't want to start a conflict so I held it in. I finally started dated my now husband sophomore year and she didn't approve but we kept in contact until she had a falling out with our mutual friend about her now current husband. We're both married now and we did not attend each other's wedding which breaks my heart because I always imagined us as each other's bridesmaids.I'm now really close with the previously mentioned mutual friend and I still keep in touch with me ex best friend's little sister because I spent so much of my life with them she started to feel like my sister too. I just don't know if I should pursue this and if so how do I even do it.

You are all adults now, so with that hopefully there can be a level of maturity to drama. Whatever issues happened in the past may not/ should not be issues anymore. Hopefully your friend is feeling the same way you are (or at least thinking that may motivate you try!). I would say pursue it, because if you miss her and want her to be in your life you don't have much to lose but a lot to gain. It would suck to live with regret. I would say approach her and be truthful (either in person, by phone, etc.). Tell her you miss her, tell her you want to start hanging out again. Make apologies for anything you feel you need to apologize for.
