Distant crush on family relative

Hi, I'm a 16 year old finishing my sophomore year of high school. I'm American as well. But straight to the point. ===INTRO=== There is a girl that I've always thought was very cute. She is a daughter of one of my uncles, and is also 16. They all live around 5 hours away from where I live. My family and I go down to visit every several months. We just got back from a trip down there, and I feel like I fell in love. In the past we never really talked or hanged out much. She always showed some sort of interest in hanging out with me. I was just too shy to be around her. The past weekend we chatted and hanged out for a long time, and I have become slightly obsessed. ===SOME INFO=== I only have one Aunt on my mom's side that I share genes with. My Uncle on my moms side does not share the same grandparents as me. This girl is actually adopted by my Uncle's brother. So I am in no way 'related' to her. But she is still family. ===THE PROBLEM=== Ever since we got back from our short little trip I have been obsessing over her. Thinking about her constantly, and listening to love music. I won't see her again until probably August. I love being with her so much and even thinking about the time we spent together makes me super happy. ===ANOTHER CRUSH=== Back in March I had a crush on a girl at school (who currently has a boyfriend). But once I saw this girl again, its like that crush just disintegrated. ===QUESTIONS=== How do I approach this the next time I see her? Should I tell her the truth? Or is it best left alone. I know that getting in relationships with family is a bad idea, and I probably won't anyway. But how am I to move on? I like her so much more than any other girl I like, and I barely ever see her. Anyone's response is appreciated. I will not be offended by ANYTHING you say. Just want some advice. Sincerely, 007Anon

My suggestion would be to slow down and enjoy just hanging as cousins. You say she showed you some kind interest in hanging out with you what did she do? Remember there are family boundaries that must be respected, She is family and even though you may not share a blood line, getting into relationships with family is a bad idea.
