My wife was abused by a family member when young and is constantly dealing with depression. I am strong to deal with it most of the time, but its hard and I do have a lot of weak moments too. Any one else have experiance with depression.

You didn't mention professional help. Get some. I'm an example of a depressed spouse and my wife did all the wrong things. So educate yourself about depression. There is lots on the web (like http://www.livescience.com/45568-tips-dealing-depression-spouse-partner.html).

I have had help, and my wife regularly has counselling, we are doing very good for the last year, I just feel I can pass on my advice and lessons on.

Great! If you have good support you shouldn't need the advice here. But discussion can help. Having people who understand can help. I think depression expresses itself in lots of ways. For me at the worst it was -intense feelings of sadness -feeling isolated, even around people -no energy -inability to face problems, just needing to avoid them -inability to act, even when knowing what needed to be done -sleep disruption -the feeling of emotional numbness created a craving to just feel something which lead to some risky behavors -no sense of self preservation, probably would not have moved if a train were bearing down on me -waking in the morning with a pull to get up and retrieve a weapon (why, I don't know but not directed at others) What are your wife's biggest issues?
