Space w/ contact

My guy recently said that he wants some space because he said that he wants to go back to his old self and I fought about it but later agreed to it. He gave me his jacket and shirt for me to keep. He said that he just wants to find himself and eventually we'll get back together. Then the day after the "space" thing he texted me a lot of time even if I'm not replying(ex. Good morning, Hey you need to wake up, Have you eaten yet?). Then he texted me that he will be with his girl bestfriend like asking me for permission. I don't know what to do he said he wanted space but why keep acting like that? I'm so confuse because I love him ad I don't want to hope for more that it is necessary/

are you guys living near or close to each other? maybe he needed space from your presence and wanted to be alone but still want to ask how you are doing or make you feel that he is still there, i dunno but my bf said space is not calling or asking for a time from him but i would still text him or i can ask him to watch a movie with me we are in a long distance relationship. but as a girl yes we cant hide the fact that we get paranoid as to why they ask things like that. how long is ur bf and this girl bestfriend been bestfriend for? i wouldnt want my bf with any girl friends and he doesnt want me to be around guys too.

Move on from him. He's put you where he wants you. He shouldn't need to go back to his old self, rather he should have been his usual self all along. You need to step back and take control of your life and find someone who will commit to you rather than be strung along by a guy who manipulates you and the circumstances.
