Is this kid crushing on me?

So I met this kid and all my friends are teasing me about him because they're convinced he likes me. (I'm just calling him "kid" 'cause I happen to be two and a half years older. He's not really a child.) Anyways, we spent a weekend together (with loads of other people) and he was really sweet when I talked to him one on one, but in group conversations/gatherings, he was a bit show off/seeking attention. Nevertheless, nice guy & I enjoyed taking with him. At one point, he wrote a song and sort of leaned real close while he sang it to me. Then he was drawing stuff in his notebook and kept looking my way sort of like to get my aprobation or something? During meals he sat like two tables away but we were in perfect view of one another and (I'll admit I stared at him a bit) he kept making faces at me to communicate, mainly expressing his boredom, but yeah. So during lunch on the second day my table was crowded like crazy, he was practically alone and had been making many faces complaining on how long our lunch break was. So I went and sat infront of him. I'm not much of a talker but he seemed to want to keep a conversation going and kept asking me questions to which he would reply think like "me too!" or nod in aprobation. He also talked about his favourite video game. Typical teenage boy stuff. All while making sure I was interested in what he was saying, if that makes sense? He also did normal annoying teen boy things like poking and what not. This one time, he tried to hush me (I was talking during a presentation) and for some reason to do that he reached out to pat my head? I grabbed his hand before he could touch me though. Anyways, he said I was cool and noted down my name to add me on Facebook (he hasn't yet). So, is this typical male behaviour or do I owe my friend money, she bet that he was into me, i said he wasn't. What do you think?

Yes, sounds like he does have a crush on you, by what you have put, he made it pretty obvious! I think if he adds you on Facebook, then that's when your friend wins the bet, that gives more evidence, he wants to get to know you more. He might not do it straight away, if he wants to play it cool, could take him a couple of days to a week or two. You can also tell how much you like him by how patient you are and how much you care if he adds you as a friend or not. Yeah, boys are quite annoying with poking and prodding or teasing, my bf has did all of these things, now I just do it back, but he's stopped now more or less now. He's also more louder with his mates, and then not so much when it's just me and him, but it's just their way of trying to get your attention. But also starting conversations and keeping them going when not getting much of a response and sharing his interests with you is a sign he's trying to see what you have in common with him and because he's interested. Since there is a two and half year age gap he might not seem that mature all the time, but girls mature more quickly anyways, but if you liked him when you talked with him And you think you like him too him then why not? There is no rush though.
