Cannot go on after DUI conviction

I am so hurt, angry, ashamed, humiliated, guilt ridden, ostracized and hopeless. A victimless, intellectual crime as the heinous DUI in Canada is.....has destroyed me and my children permanently for generations to come. I cannot function as a human being anymore. There is sooo much to say on this subject but I don't know how to cope with this anymore.

Talking about it is a start. Thanks for sharing. I have not been in your position nor do I understand the Canadian laws on DUI so you may need to help me understand. You shared many different emotions that came with this conviction. Perhaps you can also share how those feelings relate, especially the hopelessness. What do you mean when you say you cannot go on after your conviction? It concerns me greatly that you are having a hard time functioning as a human being. I know it will take courage and energy to share these emotions, but it will help me understand. I would like to think together we can problem solve and develop some coping skills. Please reply.
