Can two caregivers build a life together?

I am a caregiver and have always been the protector of my kids and lifestyle. My husband of 30 years died 6 weeks ago in a dirt bike accident. Our marriage had not been easy and he was getting ready to leave me for the 4th time when he died. A friend of his made it a point to speak to me at family night. 2 weeks later, he found out his girlfriend of 5 years was cheating on him and he kicked her out. He had been her caregiver. We got together and talked and talked. I find him considerate, smart, fiscal responsible, supportive - another caregiver. My question, can a relationship have 2 caregivers? Do they end up respecting each others efforts or trying too hard to take care of each other?

i hope so -- in a sketchy marriage myself would like to believe two people who care about each other and peoples feelings in general would make an ideal match-- but yes take things slow', sounds like you both have had some ups and downs in life and dont want a repeat--go slow and you will know if its right. good luck
