A blast from the past

I have been in my first proper relationship now for almost 2 years. I'm really happy and wouldn't want to be without him. However, a guy (who I never actually went out with), has got back in touch with me. He was in love with me, would tell me all the time and even when he started going out with his girlfriend, he would tell her that he was still in love with me etc. The thing is that I did like him back, I was just too afraid to ever admit it. When he got back in touch, i asked him why and he said it was because he just wanted a friend, as his friends and girlfriend have all gone to uni etc. He got drunk the other night and was texting me messages like, 'I really really liked you, infact I loved you', and saying that i look really hot etc. The next day I questioned him saying did his girlfriend know he was contacting me and he said that she knew we talked. My boyfriend thinks that this guy still likes me. This just all has me confused as now i feel like, are old feelings arrising again. There are soo many questions i want to ask this guy like, do you still like me? Have any regrets? etc. I just feel that I'm being silly and over thinking everything. If any one could help me please.

Hello Lucy, Hmmm, you say you're happy; you wouldn't want to be w/out your current BF, but it is sounding like you are considering putting aside your 2 year current relationship for a guy who compliments you when he's drunk and has sporadically reappeared in your life. And this was a guy you never even went on a date with! First, if a guy I never went out with told me he was in love with me, I'd be running in the other direction. Lusting after someone and truly getting to know them, care for them and love them are not to be confused. It gives me the impression that you are not ready for or serious about your current relationship, and that is fine, but in that case be honest with your current BF....he deserves to know how you feel about him.
